PlantIdentify was built for gardeners, plant parents, farmers, students, and curious nature lovers who want to know more about the plants around them. Point your phone camera at any plant — a houseplant, a garden flower, a roadside weed, a tree, or a crop — and our AI tells you exactly what it is, whether it's healthy, and how to care for it.

What PlantIdentify Can Do

• Plant Identification: Upload or take a photo and get the plant's common name, scientific name, family, and detailed description — powered by the Kindwise Plant.id API with a database of 400,000+ species.
• Health Diagnosis: Detect signs of disease, nutrient deficiency, pest damage, or overwatering from a leaf photo. Useful for farmers and home gardeners alike.
• Care Guides: Get personalised watering schedules, sunlight requirements, soil type, and fertilisation advice for the identified plant.
• Indian Plant Context: We include notes on plants commonly found in Indian gardens, farms, and forests — from tulsi and neem to rice and wheat diseases.

Technology Behind PlantIdentify

Plant identification uses the Kindwise Plant.id API, trained on millions of expert-verified plant images. Care information is supplemented by the Perenual API, which covers detailed horticultural data for thousands of species. All processing happens on our server — your image is sent to these APIs for analysis and the result is returned to you. Images are not stored after analysis.
